Chances for Lawrenceville and Andover

I am currently in the 8th grade at a rigorous prep school. Even though my school has some amazing teachers, the students aren't very motivated. I feel like the students do not appreciate education, and that is why I am applying to these schools. The kids at my school frown upon people who are interested in anything remotely intellectual (I am passionate about politics). I am wondering if I have a chance at either Lawrenceville or possibly Andover. Both of my interviews went so incredibly well, but both were off campus. The man from the admissions at Lawrenceville said that he knows my school very well, and that there are a few students who have been accepted from my school. I am very aware that these are extremely selective schools, but I want to know if I am in the range of what they are looking for. Please be honest.

As Academics go, I am in Honors Algebra, which is the highest offered level of math for students in the 8th grade. There are no other advanced courses. I am a straight A student. I am pretty sure that I am at the top of my class.

I am getting my SSAT scores back in a few weeks and I'm very worried about the verbal section, but I feel confident about the math section.

ECs
-Tennis for 5 years (this is my main sport. I play local USTA tournaments, and I am ranked in the top 100 for 14s in my area)
-Lacrosse (on the school team)
-Basketball (on the school team)
-Drama (This is my first year, and we just had our play. I actually love it, and I would definitely want to continue drama in high school. Also, I participated in a small children's film festival on an island, where my grandmother lives, in Greece, and received a certificate from the mayor of the island. Definitely, one of the most incredible experiences in my life)
-Unite Club (I started this year because I am passionate about this year's topic, which is human rights)
-Diversity Club for 4 years (I LOVE this group. We discuss important issues that affect students in middle & high school like stereotypes and discrimination. I attend huge diversity conference for middle school students every year. Dozens of schools from all over the area (including 3 different states) participate in this conference)
-Student Government (I am one of four 8th grade Representatives. I was elected by the student body.)

I have no clue if this matters, but I have participated in the Center for Talented Youth Talent Search, which requires you to take the SATs, and I qualified for their summer program (CTY). I spent three weeks intensely studying law and politics in US history (7 hours of class a day during weekdays).

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :)

do u need FA. SSAT percentile? Grades? etc. are missing

No. I will not be needing Financial Aid. I haven’t gotten my SSAT percentile yet. My guess would for the overall would be in the 80s. Not great. I know. I have gotten straight A’s in all of middle school, which includes 6th grade (including a few -A’s).

80s will be enough. I think you’re 97/100 in IMHO. Very good chance

Sorry, but what is IMHO?

in my honest opinion

The problem is that I do not know if I have any “hook.”

Your drama would be a hook. don’t worry too much.

I just got my SSAT scores and I got in the 96th percentile overall. Math= 93% Verbal= 92% Reading= 95%
I also forgot to mention in my ECs that I attend math meets with my school. My school competes against around a dozen (a few being very elite) private schools in my area. I got the highest score (5 out of 6) out of all the students who attended the most recent math meet.

You have a great chance, I see a lot of emerging passion in your application.

Thanks for replying. I just wanted to update and say that I got into both schools!!! You were right!
