really competitive high school, do you think i have a shot

sadly Cofaloaf i read an article from nov. 21, 2007 that says the exact opposite:
Georgetown University: Early Action Numbers Soar for 2012 Class

it states "College admissions are in flux this year thanks to three prestigious universities -- Harvard, Princeton and the University of Virginia -- ending their early admission programs."

however, as a result: "The acceptance rate will go down overall, however, because applications have increased. An estimated 18 percent of both the early and regular applications will be accepted compared to about 21 percent last year."

not that any of us need the added anxiety but hey, anyone who gets accepted this year should be very proud because they are being chosen over a plethora of extremely qualified applicants

when i visited, they said that 80% of applicants are qualified....

.....chances?

I think your extracurriculars are great...but simply because of low sat 1's they will defer you. I think it's not you it's just that they are looking for candidates who are very qualified in numbers for early action. There are too many applicantst this year...

dam sats.....any chance getting in anyway, even with all A's (4.0) great eassays recs interview and ecs?

of course there is, there are several aspects involved in the admissions process...you just can't be sure what they are looking for the day they review your file. just try and take a breather, trust me i know it is difficult, but anyways there is nothing you can do now, a decision has been made. and what's the worst that can happen? you get deferred. that's a pretty sweet worst-case scenerio, considering i know there are thousands of ed-ers out there who have been flat out rejected by their school this week without a chance to have their app reviewed once more. good luck, and i don't mean to sound preachy, i want this as bad as you do.

thanks i appreciate the advice, good luck

so how did it turn out?
