chances for medicine at duke

<p>*I am an Asian Indian from one of the best high schools in oregon (won top AP school award this year) and am top 10 in a 500+ class.</p>

<p>*I'm projecting to finish high school with around a 3.7 or 3.6 UW...maybe even 3.5 worst case senario in IB diploma (aka f-ing hard) classes.</p>

<p>Agreed, your GPA isn't bad, that's around what I had when I got in to Duke unweighted.</p>

<p>SAT/ACT scores are a bit low, but in general you'd probably make the cutoff for a student they'd see as qualified and capable of excelling at Duke. So, yes, you have a shot, but that doesn't mean that you're interesting or unique enough to be admitted. Think about what sets you apart from the 14,000 other BWRKs (bright well rounded kids) with good SATs and GPAs.</p>

<p>If you're top 10 of a 500+ your GPA isn't going to be much of a problem</p>

<p>I'm trying to figure out why "medicine" is in the title of the thread. Are you trying to enter Duke as a premed? Or are you trying to project, six years from now, your chances at Duke Med?</p>
