No, I won’t get in-state tuition anymore, so I don’t think that it’s worth it anymore.

Well, I am not there anymore, so that will be difficult.

I think you have a very strong chance of getting in.
Although your ECs are very weak you are still an URM with a 2400/4.0.

Dude quit looking for reassurance and just apply. And if you don’t get in, it’s not like there’s a shortage of good colleges.

I think you have a great chance of being admitted EA.Your SAT score n GPA is perfect…as suggested by many,I think you should ask for recommendations from your junior year teachers.Since they know you well and will be able to convey your personality better.Do consider ur essays well since your ECs are average.I think u’ll get in.Even I am worried about my ECs because there is not much scope for us outside the U.S. though I’ve done as much as I can on my part.

You have a good chance, and if you don’t get in it’s not the end of the world. Your stats, as has been said, are phenomenal. If your recs and ecs are your downfall at MIT, they won’t be everywhere. I think that, if you’re passionate about going to MIT, you should absolutely apply, because it’s definitely not out of reach. Every time somebody says this or something similar, you shoot them down with reassertions of your weak recs and ecs, but we all read the thread. You still have a chance, and a good one. Best of luck to you. I hope that wherever you end up, you’re happy.

I heard a statistic somewhere that perfect scores have a 40% admit rate at MIT. You are also Hispanic which will help. From that, I’d say you have >40% chance, but I’m not so sure where the upper limit would be.

Isnt the point of all these threads to seek reassurance that applying is not just a waste of time and money?

I thought the point of all these threads was to seek reassurance from people who don’t actually know any better than you do that applying is not just a waste of time and money.

And also to discount the opinion of any poster who says that applying would be a waste of money and time, whether that poster seems to know what he’s talking about or not.
