Chances for NYU?

<p>I'm going to be a senior this year and NYU is one of my top choices. Please tell me what you think my chances of getting in are. Thanks.
Heres my stats:</p>

<p>Academics:
102 weighted average, 97 unweighted, all honors and ap
sat I: 720 math, 640 cr, 650 writing (a bit weak but am taking it two more times, this is my first) I hope to raise to 740, 670 and 700, respectively
sat IIs: chemistry 750, math 1c 680, will take math 2c and retake 1c
ranked 5/900+
National Honors Society
AP Scholar
AMC participant
Local academic olympics (one student selected to represent school in each subject every year) taken twice and won third prize for ap bio sophomore year.
National Chemistry Olympiad
Bausch and Lomb honorary science award
two years perfect attendance(not really important)
a few other little things here and there, but not too important</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
Boys volleyball team for three years
1 year of chess club
2 years of environmental club</p>

<p>ecs is where i am weakest, volleyball takes a huge amount of time out of my day, 2+ hours every day, 6 days a week for one out of two terms(4.5 months).</p>

<p>Volunteer/Work experience:</p>

<p>local hospital volunteer for three months until swine flu outbreak when i was no longer allowed bc i was too young
church volunteer
american cancer society fundraiser
newspaper boy for 2 years
Participated in Quality of Life, tried to educate public on alternative energies
numerous clean ups at local parks</p>

<p>So that covers most of it, im pretty weak in ecs, any advice? i know its kinda late now because its senior year. Please help me out and let me know what my shots are thanks!</p>

<p>It all depends on what school you’re going to apply to. I wouldn’t worry too much about you ecs, mine were weak too, just NHS and work and I got in. My SATs were lower then yours, but I didn’t apply to Stern or one of the big SAT schools. I would say it really depends on your essays, start working on them now, and make sure they’re really polished. Good luck!</p>

<p>As rkbpdx said it depends on the school you’re applying to. You’ll have a very good chance for science/technical majors at CAS, a much tougher time for Stern, and the other schools require different things.</p>

<p>you should be alright. make sure you knock the essay out of the ballpark too. it’s your chance to show the admissions office you’re more than these numbers!</p>
