I am a senior in high school interested in a film major. I was accepted into the Ithaca Park School of Communications already but I am waiting to hear back about the Park Scholar Award. I was accepted into Ithaca and Emerson College but I would much rather attend Ithaca. I received scholarships from both schools but at the moment Emerson is $6,000 cheaper a year which makes a big difference in my decision. I applied for the Leadership Scholarship at Ithaca but I am much more anxious to hear back about the Park Award which is of course a full ride. If I receive either of those scholarships I will definitely attend Ithaca but if not I may have to attend Emerson which wouldn't be the end of the would.

Here are my stats:

-GPA: 4.05 (unweighted)

-Class Rank: 29/556 = Top 5%

-SAT: M 660 CR 650 W 620 TOTAL 1930
-SAT2: US HIST 650 MATH2 620

-Four AP classes
-High Honor Roll all four years
-Good extracurricular activities
-A ton of volunteer work
-Decent essays

My stats are decent but the reason I think I might have a chance is that I made a promotional video for a volunteer organization which I sent with my application. My major is cinema and photography and I read that it is important to volunteer within your field which is exactly what I did. The video is 5 minutes and used to promote the organizations as well as ask for grants. I put a lot of effort into the video so I think the admission officers might see that and if not it definitely stands out.

If any Park Scholar finalists/recipients or any students at Ithaca could help me out with my chances or anything else that would be much appreciated.
