Chances for Phillips Exeter and Andover

Dear College Confidential Members,
I am wondering my chances for Phillips Exeter and Andover. I am an eighth grade boy from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I am a member of Laguna Pueblo, and I received the Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship, which pays for high school, and I’ve been told that we’re in high demand at top schools. My grades are as follows:
Math: A+
Science: A+
English: A
History: A-
Spanish: A
Orchestra: A-

My extracurricular activities:
-MathCounts (since 6th grade) - I am captain of the 1st place state team
-Science Bowl (since 6th grade) - I am second on the 1st place state team
-Mock Trial (started this year) - I am expert attorney on the 8th grade team
-Celtic Band (started this year) - there are no rankings
-Future City (since 7th grade) - I am captain of the 1st place state team

I don’t do any sports, and that’s the only thing I am worried about, but I hope being Native American, from New Mexico, and the Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship will help.

Also, my interviews went quite well. My interviewer at Exeter, Hal Lynch, seemed to really like me and think I would fit in at the school. My Andover interviewer seemed to like me, but it didn’t go quite as well as the Exeter interview.

You stand a very, very, VERY strong chance at acceptance. Nothing is ever sure, but you look like an outstanding candidate with your URM Status and grades, lack of sports aside.

Hi! I was going to comment a few suggestions but I see that you got in! I got in to PEA too, so congrats! I applied as a 9th grade repeat, I want the full four years at Exeter. Hope to see you there!

Oh, and this was my second time applying. First time I got waitlisted, and my interviewer was Hal Lynch! Cool guy!
