Anyway, please let me know what I need to work on and if I'm on the right track. If it helps, I'm going to be a first generation college student for my family.

Princeton, as you know, is very hard to get into. I would try to get into the top 5 at your school, take as many AP classes as you can handle, and try to rock the ACT/SAT. Right now you have a shot, but I’m not going to lie it is a long shot. If you really want to stand out, do some independent research or start something (a club, an after school tutoring program, something that shows you are motivated and interested in things other than school). You seem very well rounded, and Ivies are definitely looking for that. Being a first generation college student definitely helps. Try to aim for 2250 or 34 on your SAT/ACT, and just stay focused.

I’m not going to lie, junior year is the toughest academically. Being a senior is really tough too, waiting for results from colleges, checking this site everyday to see if anyone chanced you. But I can promise you one thing: No matter where you end up, you will be happy there. Do not worry too much, remember that you are in high school. Have fun.

Good Luck next year on your admissions :)

Thank you for the positive reinforcement!
I might be in the top 5 soon to be honest, we had 8 number ones and after the first quarter results are posted, I’ll have a much more accurate idea of my ranking.
Thank you once again though!

Without standardized test scores, chancing is extremely difficult.

My advice is to find something you love and do something significant with it.

I knew someone who was a concert-pianist, Coke Scholar, and Student Rep for State and was waitlisted at Princeton. Perfect grades, SAT, extra-curricular are standard for Princeton.

Try for one of the competitive academic programs for this summer, bring the rank up and get a 2300 plus for your best shot. Good luck!

P.S. My best mom advice is to also fall in love with some of the great schools that are not ridiculously hard to get into.

Thank you everyone for your opinion and advice!
