Thanks!

Your scores and grades are competitive enough, from here on it is only luck. Have you finished your essays already?
Not applying for FA does not give you an advantage.
What are your safeties?

I agree with the above poster. I think you’re competitive, and not needing $$$ will help, make sure you have killer essays. I would add a few more safety schools. You look good for USC!

thanks - my safety schools are mostly in the UK because if I only make safeties, the price is an issue with my family, and the UK safeties are much less expensive.

bumptybump

Very good credentials, and thanks for commenting on my post! You’ll have a good shot at the latter ones, UC Berkeley, Chicago, Brown, Penn, and USC, but the top ivies are anyone’s blind shot. At this point, with your grades and stuff, it’s really up to chance. I’ve heard that unless you got community service hours or leadership skills while working for a politically affiliated cause, it is not the wisest to include your political leaning in the application. Your first impressions are a big deal, and if someone on the reviewing admissions board happens to have opposing political views, that could be a disadvantage. From what I’ve seen, it’s the safest not to mention those at all, exempting, of course, a huge time commitment.
The bad thing is that, like me, you are some sort of Asian. That hurts our chances, and there is nothing we can do about it. But it seems like your extensive involvement should be able to make up for that.
Best of luck!

Impressive focused economic EC’s. I’d say every one of your stats are solid, the only that could work against you is the whole luck factor with these top schools. I wouldn’t be surprised with at least one acceptance, but expect anything with top schools like these.

I think you’re in for USC and Berkeley. HYPS are the only ones that you don’t stand a great chance of getting into. Your application is stellar, but don’t forget that American colleges don’t take many foreign students, and HYPS are almost impossible to get in as an American.

solid af. harvard and princeton may be a high reach, but ur stats are good.

I think your chances are good.

what about stanford? i assume the same? @toesockshoe‌

bump

ALSO, Squash is a club sport at Stanford, but I plan on playing there this summer/sending footage to the coach - I don’t think I’ll be a recruited athlete, but I’m fairly sure I would play for the university team - how much can this help in my favour?

bump

Seriously… You’re very impressive. Hopefully you sent some samples of your published work along with your essays? Don’t know much about the British system but I do know A* are pretty impressive. Really show why you are different than the average applicant in your essays and stand out! Show your passions and that will shoot you to the top of Stanford’s list.

you have a good chance for stanford. im from california (25 minutes away from stanford), and usually there are 3 or 4 people that get into stanford from my school. lots of them do summer programs at stanford, and most of them apply to the eningeering school. they all have some sort of engineering internships or some other type of experience with that field before applying. your grades/test scores are on caliber with theirs’, so I think your academics are fine as is.if you are applying to engineering, see if you can get an internship or create apps or something that seems appealing.

btw, my school has around 450 people graduating in my class.

Wow! You’re clearly a good writer, so your essays will be strong. Not sure about international students, but your resume is very impressive. I think you have a good shot at whatever you are going for!

haha, i looked over your ec’s again and they seem REALLY good, so i think you do have a really good chance for stanford.

WOW. Your ECs are probably one of the best I’ve ever seen. Your stats make the cutoff and you’re an international applicant who could probably pay some cash. You have a solid chance in any school.
