I am currently a sophomore and I am in an extremely competitive school. Here are my currentstats(and projected stats). Could you please help me estimate my chances of getting into Stanford, UCLA, Berkeley, or UCSD?
Stats:
Unweighted GPA: 3.9
Weighted GPA: 4.75
Classes taken in sophomore year: AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Computer Science Principles, AP World History, Honors English 10, Spanish 3(had to take an extra language), and Photography(had to take an elective for requirements)
Classes that I am going to take in junior year: AP Biology, AP Statistics, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Computer Science A, AP World History, AP Language, and Calculus 3(Multivariable calculus… it doesn’t count towards my gpa because it is technically a college course and I get college credits for it through SDSU)
Extracurriculars: Programmer on FRC Robotics Team at my school(we placed ~7th in the world), Ongoing internship with a startup company(for all 4 years of highschool), Competitive Swim(Club swim not school team) and tennis(club tennis not school team), Leadership position on charity club at my school, and vice president of app development club.I am planning on starting another club in my junior year of high school.
NOTES: the weighted and unweighted gpa i have above are the projectedgpa after junior year. I got 3 Bs this year(sophomore) because I had just moved to a new school which was alot more rigorous than my previous school, and I was taking an extremely heavy course load. In terms of other charecteristics that set me apart from my peers, I am egyption(which is technically african american which is what I write) and both of my parents are engineers(which helps motivate me to pursue that career as well.
Dream Major: EECS or CS Major
I know that you guys can’t give me exact probabilities, but I just want to know if I am on the right track, and how I compare to students nationwide that are applying to these competitive colleges. Thanks
