Hello everyone. This is my first post on CC so I apologize if my formatting is a bit off. I just recently finished the college application process (finally!) and was interested in hearing what others thought of my acceptance chances into the following seven schools:

Northeastern University (Early Action)
Boston University (Regular Decision)
Worcester Polytechnic Institution (Early Action)
Ohio State University (Early Action)
North Carolina State University (Early Action)
University of Rhode Island (Early Action)
Roger Williams University (Early Action)

I suppose the main reason I'm posting is that I consider myself to be a more well-rounded student that might have to rely more on extra-curriculars to get me into competitive schools like NU and BU. I applied directly into the Engineering programs for all seven schools and I have aspirations of becoming a Mechanical Engineer (also if anyone could answer: is it possible to be accepted into a school but not directly into the Engineering program despite applying that way?). Just for the sake of background, I am a white, male, Rhode Island resident in the $100k-$200k income bracket. Here are my stats:

GPA (4.3 Scale): 3.7 UW (Not exactly sure of my weighted but I would assume it would be close to 4.0 considering I have only taken Honors and AP core classes throughout High School)

SAT: 650 Reading, 610 Writing, 600 Math (1860 cumulative)

SAT Subject Tests: 680 Math II, 630 Math I

AP's: Biology (4), Currently Enrolled in Calculus AB (B first quarter) and Physics (A first quarter)

Extra-Curriculars:
-Eagle Scout (My community service is outstanding. I have well over 200 hours total, including my Eagle Project which totaled roughly 40 hours as I fundraised, built, and installed four raised beds for a underprivliged childrens center. The full list was heavily detailed in my common app.)
-High School Baseball and Basketball
-Golf
-Guitar
-National Honor Society Member

Job/Work Experience: I have been working at Dunkin' Donuts for five months.

Essay: Excellent, teachers and reviewers thought it was great. Very original, it's about the time I forgot my secondary ID on SAT day and how I have grown from that experience.

Recommendations:
-Math Teacher: Good
-History Teacher: Great
-Guidance Counselor: Great

First Quarter GPA: 3.8 UW (4.1 weighted)

Thanks a lot for taking the time to chance me! If you have any questions please feel free to ask! Also, I am completely open to other school recommendations that I could apply at for regular decision.
