i think that's all!
i had my teachers read my essays for uc schools and they said they were reallly good.

so i wanted to know ...killer essays + bad scores + ec's = UCSD, UCLA, OR UCB?!?!?!!?

thnks

I think all 3 are going to be pretty big reaches. Is the 3.78 your UC gpa?
Your GPA seems below the average and your scores way below the average. Have you taken your subject tests? Because those are REQUIRED.

yea..ive taken them..i took 4 of them (french, lit, math 2, and bio) got high 500s on them...

and no 3.8 is my school gpa but i just wanted to know if i had a chance for the three schools b/c i know i have reallly reallly good essays? but my scores are like i said before ..not so great.
oh..and im first generation to go to college in america..that help?

good shot for UCSD, is ur SAT score out of 2400? if so ucb and ucla are reaches, maybe ucla with first generation

thanks :) and wat about uci or ucd?

reject at ucsd, ucla, ucb

high match/low reach at uci, ucd.

did you get ELC? if so, you should be in at davis and irvine.

If he got ELC he would be in at San Diego also.

^i got elc but i didn't hear anything from ucsd. are you sure?

You're not guaranteed admission if you have ELC for UCSD.

if you parent went to college outside of America, you are not a first generation, these schools are all reaches even with a good essay

But you are most likely in at UCSD if you are an ELC student.

I agree with Jteh, I honestly dont think your going to get into the top 3 UC's GPA is too low

GPA is in range with weighted courses, ECs are generic but good, but SAT is low. If your essays are truly good, then I think you might get into SD.

I would say rejected at all....

:(

I think the three UCs you posted are difficult. Your best bet is UCSD. Did you not pick any other UCs?

Chance me please

oh no..ive applied to 7 of them but these 3 are my dream schools! also, forgot to mention that im a co-founder of a club on campus - alliance of students against poverty.
maybe that will help? well anyway, thanks for all the feedback.

From what I've read, applying to a lot of UCs looks bad and are you from California?

You have a good shot at UCSD, don't listen to these people.

I'm in your year and just applied as well. I've applied to pretty much the same schools. If you want me to be honest, then all I can say is I don't know. At all. I'm just as clueless as you and every other kid that responded on this thread. No one knows. Each school is different. Each applicant is different. It all depends whether you have the right stuff at the right moment in time for the right admissions agent. I got ELC to a spare few schools, so i'm not that worried. But the fact of the matter is that your scores are extremely low, especially your SAT. Generally speaking, when someone is applying to college, if they don't have great SATs (like me too), we have the highest grades to back us up and well as a crapload of Extra curriculars, internships, volunteering, experience, etc. The only problem I see in your scores is that in comparison to everyone else, you are lacking a bit. That doesn't mean you are not smart. Scores aren't everything. I always hated the time limit for SAT and AP's... But the one thing that will hurt you in decision is the C grades. Thats the truth. I don't know what everyone is talking about in terms of high reach for schools. But in my opinion, the chance of you getting into Berkeley (THE HARDEST UC to get into) is very slim. The Chance of you for UCLA (A DAMN GOOD ENGINEERING COLLEGE), is slim. The Chance of you getting into UCSD (GOT NOTHING TO BRAG ABOUT THIS) is better than the other two. Theres nothing you can do now but just wait for the letters to come back... But don't worry much, you'll get in somewhere and if you don't, theres other schools you've applied to. I'll leave you with this note. Last year there was a kid who got 1550 out of 2400 and was accepted to UCLA. I don't know how the heck he did it, but that scores that scores don't dictate exactly who gets in. Best of luck kiddo.
