I'm currently looking at UNC Chapel Hill & Appalachian State for colleges right now, as well as Elon.

As for UNC - my mom, aunt & cousin all attended UNC. They aren't really supposed to consider that, but I figure it can't hurt.

Newspaper staff since my freshman year & will have an editor position senior year. Editor spots are pretty competitive at my school, so it's exciting.

Key Club all 4 years of HS

Latin Club sophomore year

Fellowship of Christian Athletes junior & senior

I've done all kinds of service stuff between Girl Scouts, my church & ASP...it's about 200+ hours a year, and I'm not about to list out everything I've done right now haha.

Everything looks great except - your SAT’s will kill you everywhere except maybe Appalachian State. No chance at UNC unless you get the scores up and no chance at Elon unless you get them way up (because Elon cares about the writing score) . So just get them way up… from your other stats your more than able - so write your essays and do practice for the SAT’s over the summer. I hate to advise spending time studying for this silly test but right now it’s god to admins.

Yeah, I didn’t try to hard on the SAT in March, I was just kind of taking it to see how I did & so I would know how to prepare for the June & fall SATs. I’m doing a lot of prep now, and I’m hoping to get a 1900+. Elon’s really my back up school - my cousin got in with SAT scores lower than mine, and about the same in writing, I didn’t realize that they cared about writing hah. I hate to be spending so much time on the SAT right now when I have finals starting Thursday, haha.

Don’t worry. I’d say buy the Official College Board SAT book and just study it over the summer and take the SAT this fall. My score went from like 1920 to 2210 and you can experience the same kind of improvement. If you get a 1900+ (2000+ esp), you have a good shot at UNC and App State would be a safety for you.

Now that you can take the SAT as many times as you want, don’t worry and just keep taking it. You are fine. Don’t study for the SAT too intensely now. You can prepare for it very extensively over the summer.

Even if you can’t improve your SAT scores, you can go to App State for a year and transfer to UNC easily with your good HS stats and probably good college stats too.

I’m using the Princeton Review book now & I have the official online College Board review too. I feel like I’m improving now, with just working for a couple weeks now so I think I have pretty good chances at improving my SAT scores. I have a lot going on this summer, I’m finishing my Gold Award project & starting college essays, along with my AP summer reading, so I’m trying to get some of the SAT studying out of the way now Thanks everyone for your input! I really appreciate it!
