I am looking to apply to the Film schools of USC and NYU. The rest I am looking to study either Journalism or Chemistry. I am also a Minnesota resident (Eden Prairie High School). If you know of and other schools that I could get into (for Film, Journalsim, or Chemistry) please suggest them below.

So...what are my chances?!

i got rejected today from BU with a 3.5 gpa, 1950 SAT, more ECs than you can ever imagine and amazing recs. but i know people with *ty SAT scores who got in… its almost like a lottery. so i wouldnt know what to tell you… UCSB, minnesota, kansas and wisconsin madison you look pretty good, just get oyur gpa up a bit these few months and in senior year. i know a guy in my school who got into kansas with a *ty 2.9-3.0 gpa and 1800 SAT… so you should be good. also, take the ACT and/or SAT as MANY TIMES AS YOU CAN. i cant stop emphsaizing this.

as for UNC, i don’t think you should apply. i’m not saying this to be mean, but my best friend got rejected the other day and he had a 3.9 gpa and a 2100 SAT it’s really really competitive. im also waiting to hear back from USC, you might get in there but i doubt ill get in. NYU too, but i highly doubt ill get in. some of your school are big reaches but you never know… get your gpa up and keep going, take the tests as many times as you can (my SAT scores improved by 400 just by taking it 3 times) and study hard.

hope this helped!

Awesome, thank you! I have a large legacy at BU, so that may help too. USC is the big one I want to get into, so hopefully next quarter I can get my GPA up. And, by the looks of it, I will probably get somewhere from a 30-32 on my next ACT. Which will make a bigger impact: higher GPA or higher ACT? Also, will it increase my chances knowing that I have taken 6 Honors classes as well?
