Chances for wharton?

Im in eleventh grade but im making some predictions. Assuming they come true, what do u think my chances will be for wharton?

GPA: A, IDK what it is in 4.0 system. My school has A+'s... I think its like a 3.8 or something. I go to One of the Schools in the nation, that can hold its own against top private schools, with most of its classes being honors level, if that matters.

Assuming pretty good (not expecting AMAZING) teacher recs and essay, what are my chances for wharton? Thanks.

Oh, and applying ED

Cant find edit button? Srry for triple post. After GPA i meant that i go to one of the top schools in the nation. Explains my not amazing GPA (probably more in 3.7 range than 3.8). But it is consistently considered one of the best public schools in the nation. I took a test to get in. It was even deemed one of the schools that was "too elite" in a list of newsweek's top public high schools. My extracurriculars arent that strong i think =/ not enough that really sticks out. Any suggestions on things i should work on early in my junior year?

its really hard to chance you buddy if you dont have concrete scores. "expected" scores dont mean anything. buttt if you insist.. if you get the scores you are expecting then i expect you to have a good chance (because your scores would def be high enough)

I'm pretty sure about scores.... I've taken numerous practice tests from blue book, kaplan, barrons, Princeton Review, etc. and never scored lower than my expected scores. Anyone else have any opinions? Are my EC's a weak? I think they may be ...

A funny thing happens when people sit down for the real test- they often do worse because of the pressure.

ECs look good, especially the political internship, but you have to realize what you accomplish in the next 12 months will dwarf all this 7th-9th grade stuff in importance.

Anything you think i should look into more this year? Since its still early in the year i might have a chance to get stronger in some EC's... Will it look bad if i only have an EC for 11th grade? (makes it look like i did it just for college). Any contests or anything i can enter to get more awards that arent 7-9th grade? I always include 7th and 8th grade for some reason since my school is 7-12th grade.

Remember, the CommonApp only lets you put down like 7 activities and they go from 9-12 grade.

It's quality that matters most, not quantity. Anyone can sign up for a ton of competitions and ECs.

Can anyone else predict my chances of getting into wharton? I'm debating between wharton and columbia ED. I would rather get into wharton (MUCH rather)... but im not sure that i can get in.

come on guys, is only one person willing to chance me? Fine, im not saying im "expecting" those scores. I know it sounds cocky, but im 100% sure im getting at least those scores. IF i do, do you think that i can get in with my ECs (maybe recommend me some? internships, programs, etc. i live in nyc), and with my not so perfect recommendations?

I did lots of math contests myself so I know that your math awards are pretty impressive. Those school grades and SAT would look great, too. I'd say you have at least an above average chance, though as you know at that level of competition nothing is certain. You need to write at least exceptional essays. Good luck with your application to Wharton!

wharton is business and columbia is liberal arts so just depend on wut u wanna study. none of the test scores will guarantee a better chance for u and a lot of people have high scores.

the schools really want to see wut u got out of the things u did instead of just wut u did

Isn't MathCounts a 7th and 8th grade thing? Because I didn't MathCounts, and it was only for 7th and 8th grade. Lol, I'm guessing you're from Texas?

Yeah I think so...well I've never done MathCounts but I did MathChallenger in grade 9, which is like a near equivalent in British Columbia.

It's tough for anyone to say that they "expect" at least a 2300. There's a reason so few people accomplish it.

However, with a 2300, 3.7 GPA and your lack of leadership besides the political magazine (Is it big, alot of time invested, well-respected, etc?)

Is there any way i can try to improve my leadership EC's? Is it too late, since most leadership positions can only be gotten when one starts early?

Also, my fencing team has a chance of winning top 1-3 in NYC for PSAL this year, if that means anything.
