Other Info
I have had an unstable family background. I am currently pretty much taking care of my little brother 'cause of parental issues, but i've maintained a decent gpa. The adcoms will (I hope) take this fact into account.

My essays were fairly strong. I wrote about my mom's death and its impact, on people's noses, and traveling to Europe.

p.s. No, most Alaskans do not live in igloos, we don't have penguins, yes if you **** outside it will freeze on your wee-wee, and no we don't normally go around town on dog sleds. We have cars and electricity (gasp!)

Do you mind posting this in the Chances forum instead?

you wrote about people's noses? that sounds. interesting.... lol but follow Lindsey's advice. :)

I'd admit you. Definetely would help round out the student body. Sounds good to me!

Oops, sorry. Can I or a mod move this thread to the chances section?

I'd say that you have a moderate chance of acceptance. You are doing everything right, and would be a wonderful asset to Yale. However, so would many others. Last year on CC (College Confidential), approximately 20% of active posters made it in early, although most had great stats. It comes down to luck and ability combined. If you can link some of your activities to Alaska, it may make you seem unique. Perhaps you will be the only applicant like that in 1,000 miles.

Secondly, (to all)

While many people ask their chances to many schools in the "Chances" section (one of my least favorite), don't you guys think that it is OK to post a specific question here. These people will likely know better than those at the Chances section for Yale specifically.

Do we want to create one thread in the Yale forum where everyone can ask for and answer chances question so that the forum doesn't get cluttered with dozens of questions? i.e. Title: (Ask Your Chances Here)
