Naw, my pops is pretty cool about everything. My teammates are normally cool too, but its the guys at school. "Hey, I heard you only made the team because your dad is the coach." It's like is the fact that "you heard it from someone else" supposed to make the question less confrontational (is that a word)? Lol, I just sarcastically say, "yea that's exactly why, I'm like the worst player on the team, but I play because he's my dad." They just get this like weird look on their face, and I just walk away. I dunno I guess it was little naive of me to expect it to stop this year, since I played well last year. W/e.

haha yes confrontational is the word...

and that's very rude of them (the guys at school). it might help to think about how you'll probably get into SFS at freaking GEORGETOWN, and they probably won't...

so when will you know whether you're accepted/denied admission??

Almost every history class American high school students take is focused on the U.S. and Western/Central Europe. Occasionally, Russia is included in the mix. Due to standardized state tests and the like, almost all history classes are (as someone else said) very eurocentric. The fact is, history classes focusing on Africa, Asia, etc. are not as common as they should be. Even if Arabs and Filipinos are taught about their culture at home (which my Arab and Filipino friends are) they still don't get to study it as in-depth as I do mine (I'm Danish) in school. So it makes sense that we have a Middle Eastern Culture club at my school. Anyway, I'm not qualified to assess chances, but you look good. Best of luck!!!

Oh, and Akkajred, you're right...I think there is a BIG difference between a "European Culture Club" and a "white" club (as some other posters were suggesting). Celebrating European culture is sooo different from celebrating a white skin color. I know from experience at my school that there are kids of all races in Asian Culture Club, Israeli culture club, etc...so good for you for helping other people expand their experiences!!!

Thanks man. I know what you mean too. There are some kids that wanted to make the club a "white club," but they left after the first meeting because they found out we were gonna be talking about real European heritage stuff, not what's like being white.
