CHANCES. highschool sucked.

Hi ! Im new to this website but when I have looked up information about schools this is almost always the first one to come up. So I decided to get involved.

Here are my stats.
personal,
-I moved to America on Sep.11th 2001. (from denmark) - i was 9 years old.
-I speak Danish and German fluently (we speak Danish in my home)
-My dad is from Iran/Azerbaijan , he fled during the Iranian revolution. I have been there multiple times.
-I leave the country twice a year to travel.
-Raised Atheist.

School related sort of,
-Super depressed throughout highschool , almost no motivation. I was in atleast half honors/ap classes but did nothing ( study wise) and my gpa at the end of highschool was 2.7 my act score is 28 . AP tests, English I got s 4 and a 3. on Macro I got a 4. I was on the Debate team, and in the orchestra program/musical pit/honors ensemble/choir. I took private violin lessons since I was 7, and was supposed to go to a music conservatory but then decided no.

'unique things' : we are here with a greencard, this summer I was in Africa for 3 months with a program called 'world teach' through Harvard. I taught grades 5-10 ICT and English All of my kids were from the location. (I was the youngest person having been accepted in the program.) , Two summers before that (in Highschool) I participated in an exchange program with students from Austria. Besides that, I have not stayed in the country for one summer since we moved here.
Next summer I will be a camp counselor at Concordia Language Villages (in Minnesota) for either the Norweigen/Danish or German camp for a month. I am also currently enrolled in Turkish school. I volunteer weekly at a Hospice teaching the residents music, or playing music for them. violin and piano.

Jobs: Oberweis, Fat Rickys (italian restaurant - was waitress), Dinolfos Banquet Hall (waitress) and my current job is at Outback Steakhouse ( as a waitress.)

I am currently at the community college in our area, and will have 42 credits after one year. Currently getting straight A's and plan on keeping it that way. I am taking Arabic 101, German 4, International Affairs, World Religion, and History of Asia.
I want to major in one of the following ; international affairs, international business, economics, or language.
and minor in one of those also.

I live 20 min from the city of chicago.
(also lived a year in Fairfax, VA)

Thanks for reading all of that.
Now here is my main question,

I want to transfer at the end of the year, and it will not be a problem to get into schools like Depaul or UIC downtown, but I kind of want to get out of this state, as a fresh start. Here are the schools I have looked into. Please tell me if i even stand a chance, or what i should do to increase my chance, or any information you can give me. Also their view on community college transfers.

-University of California, Los Angelos
-University of California, Berkeley
-University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
-University of California, San Diego
-Stanford

please keep in mind I am very much leaning towards something with economics and foreign language.

maybe i wrote too much. oops.

bumpppppppp ?

Good luck. While I cannot speak to any of your specific universities, many universities will really only consider community college grades for transfer apps, and overlook your high school years. It makes a statement that whatever got you off track in high school is past you, and you’re ready to be a serious student. All your outside activities etc. should be extremely beneficial in most of your apps. GOOD LUCK!!!

thanks for responding !
