Junior at Stanford, Computer Science and Philosophy
GPA: 3.5
Experience: Research at Blau Lab (stem cells), Research at Stanford Genome TEchnology Center
E/C: some publications in Stanford Scientific Magazine, Dance Marathon Fundraising Executive, Chi Omega Fraternity Web Design,

I also just got recommended to do the Ethics in Society honors program for my Philosophy major.

I know this sounds bad, but I am still really interested in "prestige". I want to get into a good bioinformatics / computer science / bioengineering grad school, like Stanford, Cal, MIT, Duke, etc. Do I have any chances? What about law school (I'm also considering that)?

Stanford has an amazing reputation, and wanting to attend a grad school on the same level is expected. I am assuming that you test well, so the GRE and LSAT should not be a major hurdle for you.

The top law schools in California: Stanford (as you already know), UCB, UCLA, and USC
OOS: Yale, Harvard, NYU, Georgetown, and Columbia.

Thanks scguy;
I"m wondering if you know about how much my low GPA will hurt me....3.5? I can probably get it up to a 3.6 by senior year but I'm still worried about it.. I have a lot of B's ..computer science is a pretty hard major and I'm worried about how I'll compare to all the fuzzy prelaw majors with 4.0's and above
