You have a really good chance of acceptance as you are a competitive applicant and hail from east coast. To increase geographical diversity southern schools embrace applicants from other parts of the country. You are Hispanic and first generation so odds are even more favourable for you.

However, Rice is a selective school and like other top 20 schools, there are no guarantees. Demonstrate your love in every possible way.
