Chances of acceptance to UCSD, UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC, or Stanford Master's of Bioengineering

Hi Guys,

I wanted to gain some insight into whether or not I can expect acceptance for the schools listed in the title of this post. I am looking to get my Master’s of Bioengineering/Biomedical Engineering and am favoriting UCSD, UC Berkeley, and Stanford. I recognize that these schools are Top-5 for this major so I understand if you don’t think I’ll get in. However, I am wondering if I can have some significant chance of getting in with my credentials. I know that UCLA and USC are easier to get into, so my question for those schools is: can I expect definite admission to these programs with my credentials?

School: Tufts University
Major: Biomedical Engineering
Minor: Engineering Management
GPA: 3.67
GRE: Verbal - 150; Quantitative - 163
Extracurriculars:

  • Research: I’ve been working in research labs at my school since freshman year (3+ years) on various projects. However, I have no publications. It is worth noting that all of my projects were done independently, without post-doc help.
  • Internship/part-time job at biotech start-up for one year
  • Tufts Consulting Collective Data Analyst
  • Biomedical Engineering Society Executive Board Member
  • Engineering Mentors Director
  • Math Department TA
  • Academic Resource Tutor
