Chances of acceptance?

I am a second semester Junior. I am very interested in Harvard.

GPA: 4.6126
Rank: 1/110
ACT: 33
I have taken the most advanced coursework offered at my school
Graduated with associates degree from a community college with a 4.0

Extracurriculars:
Junior Class President
Head Coach of National Hispanic Institute- I am a leader of over 200 kids from my entire city (4 years). Traveled throughout country to compete and work as a staff member
Athletics department president: I raised over $30,000 in sponsorships for all athletic teams at my school to compete out of town
Volunteered with mayoral campaign
Harvard summer school- summer 2018

2016– more Bill Gates Scholars than any other school in the nation (16)

Something interesting that I have done is I have created two floor plans for a local homebuilder. This builder continues to build my two designs through many new development subdivisions in the entire city. There are probably over 50 houses that are from my design

Other info:
Caucasian
Parents are business owners (over $5 mil a year)
No legacy to Ivy League
Both parents have degrees

What do you think are my chances of getting accepted? Should I apply early or regular? What should I work on throughout this upcoming year?

You have a good chance. Noone can be certain so while you should certainly apply, make sure you look into the many other wonderful schools out there.

Did you do community college as dual enrollment? If you “graduated” from community college with an associate’s degree, I would look into your status with applications and whether you are technically a transfer. I honestly have no idea but your guidance counselor would know.

Transfer acceptances are few. I don’t see any hook. Have you considered the extension school?

I think work with the National Hispanic Institute, volunteering with a mayoral campaign (depending on level of involvement), and the creation of two floor plans that have been used for 50 houses- are all very interesting components of your high school years.

I don’t know why you would consider the extension school, which is mainly for working adults and is not the same as Harvard itself.

I would think you would not be classified as a transfer but check with guidance.

Are you interested in architecture in college? If so, make sure you apply to schools that are good for that in the undergrad years. Look at Harvard’s Visual and Environmental Studies to see if it fits your needs. https://ves.fas.harvard.edu/ In other words, don’t just apply to Harvard because it’s Harvard

yes, the Extension school is for anyone finishing off a degree

No it’s not for anyone exactly. You have to take three classes and do well, in order to be admitted. The degree granted is a BLA (Bachelor or Liberal Arts) in extension studies. https://www.extension.harvard.edu/academics/undergraduate-degrees/bachelor-liberal-arts-degree As the site says, generally extension students are over 21 and working. Some high school students do dual enrollment there.

fair chance. apply to wide range of schools

Let us know how it works out, but transfer to Harvard College would be tough because of very few transfers. Extension School as I have said before may be your best bet.

Students who take community college credits while dual enrolled in high school are NOT considered transfer students. They key is that no college credits were earned after the high school diploma was awarded.

Also, stop telling HS students to enroll in the extension school… it is primarily for working adults in the Boston/Cambridge area.
