chances of admission for transfer student

I'm a sophomore at a community college right now with 45 credits after 1 1/2 semesters. I am in the process of transferring to a 4 year college as a finance/accounting major. I am applying to schools near Maryland so anything within PA and VA.

In high school, I had a terrible GPA barely reaching 3.0 and a terrible SAT score in the 1500s out of 2400.

However, right now I have a 3.69 GPA right now after 45 credits in college and lots of ECs, consisting of volunteer work and community service. I also have a very good job right now as a tech support analyst in DC working full-time and going to school full-time.

I am planning on applying to Penn State (University Park), Maryland (College Park), and George Washington right now. I am still looking for another 2-3 schools, hopefully higher ranking schools. What do you think are my chances at getting into these schools and what other schools would you suggest within the area to apply for?

You’ve picked a pretty good set of schools. I think you should be pretty competitive for all of them. They should overlook your lower grades in HS based on your college record. Can you afford to pay for those schools?

Thanks for the response. I just wanted to see how competitive I can be with the schools, money will be an issue, but I wanted to get an idea first.

Any ideas of what other schools to apply for?
