I am a Malaysian student looking to transfer to Georgia Tech for the biomedical engineering undergraduate program. I am enrolled in a college here and intend to transfer my credits there for Fall 2015. I have e-mailed the admissions office several times and basically what I have come to learn is that they do not take into consideration anything other than the CGPA. Can anyone verify this? I specifically asked whether they take into consideration test scores such as SAT and TOELF and they claim that they do not. I also asked whether they look into extra curricular activities, again they said they do not. I would just like to know whether they might consider them even slightly when choosing from a large pool of applicants with competitive GPA scores. If they do, should I submit these additional documents even though they are not recommended?
At the moment I have a CGPA of 3.9 and below are the math and science courses that I have taken and the grades I have achieved
Biology I (A)
Chemistry I (B+)
Cell Biology and Physiology (A-)
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (A-)
Calculus I (A)
Calculus II (A)
Statistics (A)
Linear Algebra (A)
At the moment I am in the midst of completing the following
Physics (Calculus-based)
Differential Equations
I fear that my chemistry grade might bring my entire application down, but would just like to know your take on my situation. Do I stand a chance at admission? Also would like advise on which of the following humanities would most likely be accepted by them. I understand it is difficult to know for sure without seeing course descriptions but I rough idea on which might be accepted will do. Thank you so much!
