Chances of admission. Masters in CS.

Hi, I am a computer science graduate from the university of illinois at Urbana Champaign. I graduated with a gpa of 3.4 this summer. My major gpa is a 3.45. While my gpa is mediocre at best, the thing is that my junior/senior years have been decent. My cumulative junior/senior year gpa is a 3.75. I had a really torrid sophomore year (my first year at UIUC) and finished with a gpa of a 2.51.

1 paper in an IEEE conference. 3rd author.
1 chapter publication in an Elsevier book. 2nd author.

I have started applications at Georgia Tech, Ann Arbor, UT Austin, Wisconsin Madison, Northwestern and Minnesotta Twin Cities. I have been able to coerce three of my professors into submitting recommendations. All of them are in CS and one of them is very respected in the field i wish to work in.

I am really worried about my gpa and if I have any chance of getting into places like ann arbor, georgia tech and such. If not should I aim lower. Does anybody care about junior/senior year gpa Any opinion would be welcome.

thank you
