Chances of being accepted to Notre Dame?

Good morning! Notre Dame is my dream school and my first choice. Based on my credentials, what do you think are my chances of being accepted? Do you have any suggestions to improve my application? Any input is welcome. Thank you!
I have taken the most challenging courses available by my high school (in total I will complete 5 AP classes, the maximum offered by my HS). I have made all As except for an 89 in AP US History. (I have taken 3/5 AP classes so far and all pre-ap/honors)
I scored a 1920 on the SAT (I am retaking in Nov)
ECs are as follows:
Majorettes (Captain-2 years)
FBLA Vice President (member for 4 years)
Big brothers/Big sisters (4 years)
Youth Leadership of Gordon County
Possible leadership position in Interact Club
Beta Club
NSHSS
Crown Senior Twirling team
Gymnastics teacher (and student)
Basketball (recreational)
Track and Field
Honors and awards:
Georgia certificate of merit
AP scholar award
Presidential community service award (silver and gold levels)
Ap government, honors literature, business top student award
Work:
Teaching baton classes to children
My class rank is currently #6 unweighted
I am Hispanic.

Thank you so much for your time! Any feedback is appreciated!

You have good extracurriculars with leadership but it shows no depth… I am sorry to say that. And also Improve your SAT scores , you will definetely go to Notre Dame.Since , you are hispanic , it will be easy for you to get selected in Notre Dame.
Wishing you all the best for the SAT.

•You are URM, which helps you a lot.
•Good ECs, but they look more like a shopping list. You MUST show depth, like mak1702 said
•The SAT is too low, aim for 2100 at least
•Try the ACT too
•More leadership
•It will not hurt to take the SAT II

Notre Dame: Reach

Good luck

Chance me back?

Thanks :)

Also I think I might just leave out Beta and NSHSS unless I’m able to score a leadership position in those. Would any officer position mean something to ND? (Ex historian or something like that) or is that a waste? And if I put down all those clubs with a leadership position in them, will it appear over stretched and like superficial involvement? Thanks so much!

Means that’s your passion . Do include it in your essay , it would only benefit you. :)

at post#4

Whoops I accidentally deleted this, so I’m just reposting haha:

Thanks so much for the feedback so far! About the ECs, majorette and twirling take up basically all my life, making it difficult to be heavily involved in much else. We spend the entire year practicing baton (majority of the year every day of the week) as you can see I have dedicated pretty much my entire high school career to it. I also compete individually throughout the year and placed first in state in my division. I was considering asking my baton coach for an additional letter of recommendation to truly demonstrate this to ND. Do you think that would benefit me at all?

Bump bump

ND LOVES athletes so you’ve got that on lock. I would say no to the supplementary baton rec. They will know already know your accomplishments from your common app, so this would be redundant and possibly annoy them. The only reason you might consider it is if you plan to continue in college, but even then it should only be used to support your character, work ethic, etc, not to list your accomplishments.

I think you have a very good shot, but you should increase your SATs…break 2000 at the very, very least. Or try ACT!!

Anyone want to chance “Chance me please”? :)

Thanks so much for the feedback! I was hoping with the extra letter of rec to simply exemplify the work ethic that goes along with baton, and just how much practice and effort and dedication accompanies it. Would you think that would be a good idea? Or just redundant?

I think that once they see the hours you put in and your accomplishments, it will be clear that you are dedicated and hard-working. Thanks for your post as well!

Your most likely in. Being hispanic is huge and the athletic e.c.s are huge at notre dame.
please chance back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1564465-penn-state-transfer.html

So I am trying to narrow down my ECs to the maximum 10 allowed by the common app. I would really appreciate some feedback as to which ones Notre Dame would most appreciate. :)

Majorette-Captain
Crown Twirling Senior Team
Basketball (intramural-8 years)
FBLA- Vice-President
Spanish Honor Society-President
Youth Leadership of Gordon County
Big brothers/Big sisters
Gymnastic-Volunteer teacher as well as student
Track and Field (junior year and am planning on this year)
Interact Club-leadership position (waiting on specifics though, probably a more minor officer)
Student Government-Senior Representative
Work=teaching baton to children with Crown Twirling
I am also founding a peer tutoring program at our school, but I am currently awaiting approval for this

I am very dedicated to each of these programs, I have already ruled out my less involved ECs, so it’s difficult for me to choose. Any insight as to which ones ND would most appreciate would be great! Thank you!

Bumppppppp

What is NSHSS? If I were you, I’d pare down my ECs to represent your most important ones and those you spend the most time on and commiting yourself to. On the common app you should be able to put the number of hours per week and weeks per year down so that will help with colleges getting a sense on what you spend your time on. You seem very well qualified, lots of awards, and with somewhat unique ECs. Better than some ND applicants I’ve spoken to recently. Good Luck!!

I chance back. :)

Your grades and classes should be good. The SAT score may be problem, but you said you’re retaking it, so good luck! It appears as though you are very involoved (which is good), but you might want to prioritize and work really hard on your few favorites. URM should help as well. You probably have a good chance. Good luck in the admissions process!

So what’s the verdict? Did you get in early?

@rosa2014 I actually ended up applying RD and my app ended up being a lot different than I had originally expected. Haha so now I just have to wait until April…ugh so long!
