I have a 4.95 Weighted GPA. I will be the valedictorian of my grade based upon what my guidance counselors have told/ showed me. I am currently only a sophomore, so I can easily pick up fencing. I used to do it and was amazing at it. However, I quit because I got to caught up in other activities. I have been told that Princeton only wants to see 1 or 2 activities. I have got an amazing internship, I am president of 2 clubs, each club I have done amazing things and won recognition. Would it be a good idea for me to pick up fencing at the start of this year? Only athletes seem to get in from my school.
I feel like I will be too “well rounded” then.
How amazing were you? If you were regularly on the medal stand at NACs or SNs, it might not be too hard to get back into competitive form. If you can attain a rank of top 10 or so on the USFA U20 points list within the next two years, then Coach Dudas will want to talk with you. If you’re not currently rated “B” or higher and regularly earning cadet points at national events, I see this as highly unlikely.
