CHANCES OF GETTING IN? honesty needed please

You can definitely get your score up to 1900, at least, I assure you, it’s possible!
Also, your GPA has an upward trend, which is def. good! :D

Try to work hard on your essays and get good recs. That can only help.

Good luck!

Hey guys just thought i would add I just took the SAT 2 this saturday for Spanish w/ listening and US History and i think i definitely got a good score on the spanish one, although the other one I unfortunately cannot say the same. Hoping I got an overall good score on both if I were to get a score on the US history that I think is too low, do you guys think I should take it again?

I don’t think the subject tests count for much with admissions. I would focus your efforts on SAT I.

Yeah I know but since I’m taking an SAT class that is supposed to prepare me for the December date, I felt not doing anything for this month would be a waste. Also since Spanish w/listening is offered only in November and I would like to think of Spanish as one of my strong areas so why not lol!! also would you guys recommend taking the SAT 2 or 3 times cause in case I don’t do as good as I hope for the december date, I could take it again in january. Btw Thanks for the help you guys on everything! Idk what i would be doing without your guys help and advice

You should only take the SAT more times if you are studying to improve your score or you feel you had a bad day when you wrote it the first time.

Also I know this may be sort of out of the blue, but I was wondering does my annual income affect my college application chances? The reason why I am asking is because my annual income is really low(15,000 - 20,000) and I was wondering if that would affect my application in a negative or possibly positive way. Thanks for reading!

I am almost positive that personal finances are not considered in admission. They may be important for scholarships and financial aid, but you don’t need to worry about that until after a decision has been made.

in that case that is wonderful news! Also btw I’m taking the SAT’s this December 4 and I have been studying especially hard for the math and reading portion of it, but I’m not sure if I have done enough. Do you guys have any tips on what you guys did during it? Or any helpful websites that you guys thought were helpful when you guys took it would be amazing too. Thanks for reading and look forward to the responses :)

I don’t have any info on how effective this is, but my daughter recently signed up for online SAT prep on magoosh.com. They’re waiving their fee through December. What helped my son on the math section was, he worked whatever problems he could, then the ones that gave him trouble he showed to his favorite math teacher, who helped him work through them. Good luck!

I just finished looking at Magoosh.com and i actually just made an account lol hopefully it helps! Also The last tip you said about your son and his math teahcer sounds actually like an amazing idea and i intend on doing that with problems I am not so sure on. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to help, hopefully its not in vain :)

Another thing to keep in mind is that they count your highest scores in each section. So for example, say you got the following score the first time.

Math 500 CR 700 Writing 650

The second time you got this:

Math 620 CR 620 Writing 550

Then your score for admissions would be:

Math 620 CR 700 Writing 650

So it is really advantageous to focus on the section with the lowest score, which in the above example was math.

yeah in my case I think the lowest was CR so im gonna focus on that maybe slightly more but I still have to do extremely better on all to get the SAT score I want. Hopefully all goes well that day.

Btw the scores for my SAT 2 just came in for spanish and i got a 680. I thought I was gonna get a little higher but ehhh not bad for my first try i guess. I also got my first term grades and got all As except 2 classes which were both Bs. Thought I would share my progress for… well actually I have no idea why lol. This thread has become my sort of personal journal in a way :)
