chances of getting in

For sat 2 i wil be taking math 2, chem n phy. for math n phy i am confidnt bt for chem i just need to brush up my basics.

So you are going to take another gap year? It is funny that you are talking about ED even for next year. There is then plenty of time to improve your SAT1 score further.

billcsho

no, i am nt taking another gap yr.
i’ve completed my high schul dis year ie 2013 n took a drop after dat to improve my jee ranking for 2014.
due to sum reasons i will nt apply to US univs dis yr bt i will do so next year.

You mean for 2015 admission? That means another gap year. The students in senior right now are applying for 2014 admission. Since you have already graduated, you are in gap year right now already. If for 2014 admission, you need to apply now and you may be late for ED if you do not have the required SAT2 score by this month. If you are applying RD, then you still have time.

bt next yr after giving jee i will also gv a shot to us univs.

Can anybody chance me for above univs?

They are mostly reach schools. And most of them require SAT2 particularly when you submit SAT1.

I will be giving sat 2 n i am very sure dat i will have a gud score in them!

How is the break down of your SAT1 score? You may need to improve you SAT1 for these schools depending on the distribution of you section score. You probably should post again after you have all the scores.

Maths-800
CR-690
W-760

You do need to improve you CR score for top schools.

It means dat if i am able to raise my sat scores n if i do well on my sat 2, den there is a chance for me getting in?

You will have a better chance if you have better CR and good SAT2 scores. Ivies and other top schools are very competitive as most of the applicants have great GPA and scores.

As most people advised, raise your SAT CR score and also get 780-800 in SAT 2s. It is very difficult to get into top universities as an Indian requiring high financial aid.

I have a question. Are you applying for Fall 2014 admissions or Fall 2015 admissions?

Cornell offers only TATA scholarships to Indians. As far as I know, this will be awarded to 4-5 exceptional students. Others will not get it! I know of an Indian girl on CC who got into Cornell and she will have to spend only around $4500/year including travel, room and board. She was an outstanding applicant and more importantly, a female applying for engineering. Most top universities love to have talented female engineering applicants.

Likewise, Stanford, Princeton, Rice, Caltech, Yale, UChicago, Columbia, Duke, etc are all very high profile schools and are very hard to get in. Keep this in mind before you start applying to US colleges. Before diving into this process, evaluate yourself, your financial position, the colleges you are willing to apply to and your probability of getting into those colleges.

Due to some reasons i am not applying this year. so its fall 2015.

i have a good list of ECs n i am presently preparing for sat 2.
the only thing in which i lag is my 12th percentage but i have a gud reason for that plus i have a gr8 essay n gr8 rec letters.
u can see my list of ECs on the first page of this thread.

As per my ECs can u suggest me some engg schools which give big amounts of aid to intl students!!!

You’re going to have to spend alot more than 11k a year for probably 90% of the colleges, unless you get lucky with a scholarship

@hp1995
please tell me about the remaining 10% of schools.
