Please be 100% honest… sometimes the truth hurts!

I think that you’ll get in. While your SAT might be a tad on the low side, your GPA more than makes up for it. Your EC’s also look pretty good. Good Luck!

I spoke with the Director of Undergrad Admissions awhile back and she said undergrad composite scores (math & critical reading) slightly went up to 1290 to 1300 (this means at least 650 math, 650 critical reading). However, since that’s the average, I think you should try to raise your SAT score like kool321 says. I think you’d be a great fit for AU.

Look up more information on admissions by looking at the Academic Data Reference Book - http://www.american.edu/provost/oira/upload/Fall2011_ADRB.pdf

There’s a more recent version of the Academic Data Reference Book out now that’s been updated to include data from Spring '12: http://www.american.edu/provost/oira/upload/ADRB-2011-12.pdf

Isn’t American an SAT/ACT optional school?

Yes. There is an earlier deadline though
