Chances of getting into Hopkins, University of Chicago or Northwestern

Hello, I am currently a sophomore in high school. Am I able to get into any of these 3 schools with:
3.5 GPA
1850 on SAT
30 on ACT
Soccer in Freshman year.
ALAS-Alliance of Latin American Students
Science Olympiad
Classics Club
Taking Latin and Greek at the same time.
Planning to take 3 AP classes in the next 2 years (Psychology, Biology, and Spanish)

P.S. I want to be a doctor so I want to go to a school that offers a good pre-med curriculum. If you guys have any suggested schools, I would be very pleased.

You are aiming way too high. All three are high reaches. Your ACT is barely up to par, GPA is .3 points too low for consideration, and your ECs are not unique.

Good luck.

Very few APs, only average gpa, decent but not spectacular act. I’m sorry but you’re aiming WAY to high.

What are your backup plans?

It is clear that you’re aiming way too high; even stellar essay-writing won’t save you for U Chicago.

UIUC maybe?

OP: In my opinion, you’re fine. To many, your standardized test scores might seem low, but for one who is only a sophomore & likely to retake as a junior or senior, you should be fine.

The issue regarding “a good pre-med curriculum” is a bit clouded. Basically, medical school admissions committees are concerned with an applicant’s GPA, MCAT score & medical school interview; one’s undergraduate course of study & institution are not typically major factors. In short, this means that you need to go to a good school, get great grades, do well on the MCAT & interview well at each medical school. Graduating from Harvard, for example, does not give you any significant advantage over one who graduated from the Univ. of Rochester or UC-Davis for purposes of medical school admissions. Your overall (cumulative) GPA & MCAT score are the most important factors for getting into medical school.

Also, if certain that you want to attend medical school–which is expensive–then you should minimize the cost of your undergraduate degree. In other words, take a full tuition scholarship from your flagship state university over paying full tuition at any of your three listed schools.

Very very high reaches… Need to increase SAT and GPA.
Good luck
