Hello I’ve been worried i can’t get in lately i’ve been seeing people getting waitlisted, and reqected. Plus im only applying for 1 school! I don’t know if i want to apply for more but I’m sure my dad doesn’t want that.
My Grades for 7th (Final Grade)
Reading- B+ (92%)
Math- A (96%)
English/Vocab- B (91%)
Social Studies- A- (93%)
Science- A (Didn’t give me the %)
I’m going in to 8th so i haven’t started school yet.
I do swimming since i was 5
I competitively swam when I was 6
I did yearbook 7th grade but I’m not planning to do it again (Will it help if I did though?)
I don’t need FA
I have a question I heard that if I do i sport there’s a really good chance to get in is it true?
And when should I start scheduling visits and interviews?
AND I haven’t took the SSAT yet but I know they’ll be one on Jan. 7th but the application is due Jan. 15 what if my score doesn’t come in time?
Why are you waiting until January to take the test for the first time. That doesn’t give you time to take it again if needed. I think many kids do take it twice.
If you are good at your sport and can make an impact your first year it will help. My daughter is also a swimmer so if you want I to share your times with me in a private message I can give you my thoughts. Or, look on the nepssa website for times from last year. If you would score points that would be a good indication.

Start scheduling visits asap… the best time to visit is probably around now to November. I would agree that if swimming is your “thing” and you would be an impact member of the team it’ll definitely help + reach out to coaches if you can. If not, I would take up some ECs this fall…
The girls swim coach at Hotchkiss is super nice. They are trying to build their team so if you have good times it will help you.
Oh lol mistake actually Jan. 7th is the last time I’m taking the SSAT the first timeis on November 12th, I would only be getting 3 chances is that enough?
I don’t have that fast times just AAs is that good enough for varsity because I heard high school swimming isn’t that great compared to like YMCA swim teams. My dad expects me to get in to varsity because my brother got in too and thanks for the reply!
3 tests should be enough. You might not even need the last one.

No he didn’t because my dad found out about it too late for my brother to go so he’s letting me go instead but i meant he got in to varsity swimming and are my 7th grade grades ok? I’m trying to raise them this 8th grade year what should my GPA be to get in?
Varsity swimming… where? I would imagine (in response to one of your previous posts) that prep school teams wouldn’t be too inferior…
Your grades are fine. There is no prescribed GPA, but would keep it A-range. Would focus on other things…
