Chances of getting into Johns Hopkins?

I’ve always wanted to go to Johns Hopkins every since I was in 7th grade, and now that my senior year is coming up I’m really curious as to see if this is an achievable goal.

SAT score: 2150
GPA: 4.4
Class rank: 4 out of 747

AP courses taken in sophomore year: AP Chemistry (3<-- seriously considering if this is my downfall), AP Biology (4)
Currently taking AP English, AP Psychology, AP Physics, AP Comparative Government, AP Calculus AB
I have scored 5’s on all of the practice exams for each of these subjects and so, unlike last year, I am extremely confident I can get 5’s in all of them.

My 6th class is Biotechnology, which is Honors and I am going to take Biotechnology II next year and get the Silver Service Medal on my diploma (150+ service hours) by volunteering in the lab everyday after school and volunteering at our local hospital where my mom works.

Extracurriculars:
Speech and Debate (3+ years, I have won awards at every single tournament I have been to, which is at least 20+, will most likely talk about this in my essays; this, or my lab work)
Model United Nations (best MUN team in the state, have won multiple honors and is traveling to New York in March to compete against college MUN teams at the National Model United Nation Conference)
HOSA (fundraiser officer/ they are very disorganized so I don’t think I will discuss this much)
founder and president of Bearers of Hope (charity organization that holds monthly service projects)
Tennis (6+ years) (junior varsity Freshman, varsity Sophomore/ won state championships, cannot play this year due to time constraints, but I still train everyday and compete in out of school tournaments)
Orchestra (freshman, 2nd highest, had to quit because of schedule conflicts)
Piano & Bhartanatyam (5+ years)(my dad just made me because he wanted me to study for the SAT)
Hugh O’Brien Leadership Conference
Girls State
Principal’s List
NHS
Toro Links (an upperclassmen- freshman) club that helps freshman become oriented into high school and helps out at pep rallies and such
Mentoros (a tutoring program at our school that has students tutor other students)
National Merit Scholar semifinalist (possibly- the projected cutoff is 201-205 in my state and I got a 210)
Have written 2 novels for National Novel Writing Month (I don’t really know if that’s an asset)

I am also conducting an extended research study with one of the science specialists in our school district studying the effects of antibiotics on metabolic activity on mitochondria. Over the summer, I am planning another study that studies the effects of mood on the TAT and Rorschach test, and possibly other personality tests.

My main concern is that I’m Indian and all the other Indians will have must better applications than me. My SAT score is not also the best, but I am going to take the new SAT and the ACT and see if I can improve. I am also taking more AP’s next year so hopefully I can vie for valedictorian, which will be an enormous asset because our school is well known for being competitive and there are 747 kids in my grade. I have also been studying for my SAT subject tests; I am taking Math II, English, Biology M/E, and Physics.

Please help!! I really want to go to Johns Hopkins; it has always been my dream school…

A 2150 is low for Hopkins.

@TomSrOfBoston - 2150 is slightly above the average for Johns Hopkins

Like I have mentioned, I’m planning to improve my score to at least a 2250, or try the ACT and see if I do better.

Your application looks like a lot of other Indians. Just work on getting the SATs up a bit higher.

The larger problem is that you are applying to a school which is known for their premed program and you look a lot like hundreds of other applicants.

I actually am aiming for law, not premed. It has a great political science program. I also am thinking about applying to Georgetown and Princeton for their political science programs as well. However, I do want to go into a law profession that integrates knowledge of medicine as well.
