Hi :) I'm a rising sophomore, and I've recently started heavily looking into colleges, and was wondering what my chances of getting into some of them were!

I am planning on either double majoring, with one of them being music, or fully focusing on music (composition, mainly songwriting and film scoring/orchestration). Berklee sounds like one of the best, and seems to be one of the few schools with a wide variety of quality composition majors, like film scoring, songwriting, music business, orchestration, etc. What are my chances for getting into Berklee? How about other major music schools on the east coast?

most importantly: what should I do to increase my chances?

My stats (ik its just freshman year...):

GPA: 4.0? yearly average was 97.6
(ranking fourth in my class, not trying to brag but its a pretty hard school)

extra curriculars:
-habitat for humanity (not doing it next year though)
-basketball (freshman & planning on sophomore)
-japanese school (kumon, lol does that sound like a joke?)
-i am taking independent music study during my study hall/advisory classes, where i just sit and compose

ive performed a lot for school events, open houses etc. with other people too

achievements:
-2nd place in Meritas Music composition contest (between a couple of schools), high school division
-assuming i will be in NHS?
-excellence award in photography
-silver in national spanish exam

leadership positions?:
-captain of jv basketball team
-editor-in-chief of yearbook next year

*I am going to take IB diploma, with IB music (probably HL)
*Im taking a Berklee songwriting course on coursera next month
*I take piano lessons with a Rice university professor, who is also a composer
half of class is spent on classical music, but I am not very good - I don't really try because I dont like it
half of class is spent on writing music; I am studying orchestration at the moment

^^I am worried about the classical piano part because in auditions for all music schools you are required to know lots of theory and great piano playing! :/

Thank you so much!!!
