Chances of Getting Into Northwestern ED?

GPA: 4.34 weighted, unweighted, 3.7
ACT: 31 but expect to get it to a 33
Have a single, paternal, Legacy

[APs:] US History, European History, GOV: US, GOV: Comparative, Psych, Chem, LIT, Macroeconomics

Recs: Good, but not great

Strengths: National Honors Society, 4 years of mandarin Chinese honors, over 80 hours of volunteer hours( possibly more), had two jobs, one at a tech startup, one at an auction house. My GPA has been much higher my past two years. Junior year it probably will be a 4.83. I also take all honors classes except for math. I am also in the towns youth leaders council.

Weaknesses: Math, I will be in Pre-Calculus senior year(But I have straights A's in math for Sophomore and Junior Year).

School Type: One of the best public schools in Illinois, very strong ties with Northwestern.

Ethnicity: White

It might depend on what school you are looking at. Pre-Calc senior year is not going to get you in McCormick IMO.

Regular Decision: Long Shot to No Shot. Early Decision: 35 - 40% shot. I think your ECs will be interesting to the Admissions group.

As a legacy applying ED, with an upward trend in your GPA and lots of honors classes, your chances are not bad, but i agree with the above responses to the extent that (i) not having calc would be a killer if you were applying to McCormick, and (ii) in your case, your RD chances are clearly less than your ED chances.
Good luck!
