Chances of getting into NYU Stern or Columbia?

I know this is a very chliched question but if anyone could help I would appreciate it. Im from New Zealand and not many people here go to American Unis so there isnt much info.

I have an SAT of 2060* and I am in the top 3% of my school.

I also have 6 As at CIE AS level (British exams - dont think this means much to American unis tho). I came 2nd in New Zealand overall over 3 subjects in these exams. I also have 6 As at IGCSE.

Im also solid on extra-curricluar I think. Co-founded/editor of school newspaper. In orchestra, rock and Jazz band, writing club, prefect, play basketball and archery (won regional competitions). Volunteer at rest homes and am an active member of Amnesty International as well as Mensa. I also went to school in France for a month and attended the Columbia Summer program last year.

*The 2060 was my first SAT attempts (im going to do more lol) and I'm well aware that is quite on the low side - especially for Columbia.

Can anyone advise me on whether I should apply to these two schools and what my chances are? Thanks!

You will have a fine chance at NYU if you can pay for it. They won’t give you any aid. Columbia is a reach, bring up the scores and hopefully you can position one EC as a standout. Columbia is looking for kids with national level achievements, true stars in their country.
