Chances of Getting Into Rutger NB's Nursing Program?

Hello all. :) This is my first post as a user here. I just wanted to know if anyone here could chance me for Rutgers NB's Nursing Program. I am going to be a senior this year, so I'll be applying for universities soon. I've been thinking of Seton Hall too, so you could chance me for that as well.

Current Unweighted: Around a 3.6 GPA

Current Weighted: Around a 3.94

Current SAT: 1490 (520 W, 520 CR, 450 M) :( I plan to take it again in October. I am currently taking SAT classes with Kaplan to improve my score. I have only taken it once.

APs: Just APUSH 1 and 2 from Sophomore to Junior Year. I got a 4 on my exam. I will also be taking AP Psych and AP Language and Composition this year too.

Honors: Honors World History Freshman Year, Honors English Sophomore and Junior Year, Honors French 2, 3 and 4 my Freshman, Sophomore and Junior Year. I will be taking Honors Humanities this upcoming school year.

Extracurriculars: Key Club, Seekers' Club, Track and Field Sophomore Year (Shot-put), National Honors Society (Just got accepted during the end of the school year, community service shall commence sometime next month), French Honors Society, and I am in my church's youth group.

Community Service: I help out at my church a lot since freshman year (i.e. Food Pantry). I am also a part of my school's Key Club which deals with community service. I have also helped out at a nursing home a few times.

I am a minority (African American) and I have lived in New Jersey my entire life. What are my chances? Do you think that if I increased my SAT score to around a 1700 - 1800 range, I would be able to get in? I know my SAT is horrible but with studying and preparation, I have the confidence that I can and will do better. I know RU's Nursing Program is competitive but I've wanted to do nursing for a long time.

Thank you!

Rutgers nursing: Aim for 1850+/27+

I agree with the above. I’m surprised, though, at your lack of Honors/AP science courses considering your potential major. If you do well though in whatever you do, the university will want you. Best of Luck!

@irishsson4 I was in a regular Science class my freshman year because in eighth grade, my final grade in Honors Science was a 3 (Then they did grades by numbers) so they didn’t accept me into the subsequent Honors Science course for ninth grade. So I had to take regular Science which I got an A in but my school pretty much only took those who were already in Honors for Honors Bio and Chem, respectively. So for that reason I have a lack of honors science courses.

I’ve taken Allied Health junior year (A in the class) and I’m taking Anatomy this year so hopefully those will substitute for my lack of honors science courses?

Thanks for wishing me luck.
