Background: I have a tremendous amount of leadership roles…
-I am a squad leader in my JROTC division as well as the division MAA.
-I instruct my own personal martial arts school out of a studio built in my back yard (martial arts has been a huge part of my life, I am a third degree black belt).
-I am the captain of my high school varsity baseball team.
-Every summer I volunteer as a lead camp consoler for a camp for children who have lost a loved one.
-Each year I organize a donation drive for my local VA hospital.
-I volunteer at a local camp for younger kids entering elementary school each summer.
-Member of the National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, and Foreign Language Honor Society.
I am very anxious about getting into Stony Brook… For me it is one of the best paths for the career path I am looking to get involved in. I am applying for a health science undergrad and eventually I want to become a physicians assistant. I have been told that their admissions process has been getting more and more selective each year, and with an admission rate of about 40%, you can see where I am coming from.
Any and all feedback is appreciated. Thank you. (And I am open to answering any questions that may assist in your opinion.)
