OK, so I know everybody wants this, but here are my qualifications. What do you guys think, are my chances good?
(Oh, and I’m not trying to peacock, so please bear with me, I’m merely stating my qualifications. I’m not trying to brag or show off) These are also not in any specific order.
-I’m in the National Youth Orchestra
-I have a weighted GPA of 4.0, and perfect SAT and AP test scores.
-I published a novel at fifteen.
-I’m a nationally ranked swimmer.
(Just for clarification I’m from South Asia)
-I am fluent in four different languages.
-I started my school’s Kennel Club
Thanks for taking your time and I really appreciate your response!!
To be honest, there’s no guarantee for anyone when it comes to the Ivies. You have good scores and relatively unique EC’s (a published novel! I’m jealous!! ) but so does nearly everyone else applying there. I can’t predict where/if you’ll get in, but I will advise you to also apply to matches and safeties. Good luck!
Out of curiousity – self-published or traditional?
Agree with corbeaux above. Even perfect scores don’t mean Ivies are a sure thing. I’d look at universities (liberal arts colleges if you want a smaller more intimate setting) ranked in the top 30, for example. Then consider such factors as location, open vs traditional curriculum, urban vs small town vs rural, % of international students, etc, more factors than I can list here. And look at cost.
Which country are you applying from? You’re in NYOUSA or NYO Canada or NYO GB? Are you being recruited for swimming? How’d you get your novel published and do you have other writing awards to go along with that? I think you should be a little more specific about your qualifications, they seem off-the-rocker impressive but disjointed at the same time. To be fair I’m 90% confident that this thread is fake so I don’t even know why I’m writing this much.
If you’re real then you’re goint to get into the most elite colleges without breaking a sweat
