Chances of getting into the Lawrenceville school and admissions?

I posted this in a different section I guess it was the wrong one. I only got 1 reply and 60 views?

I'm new so I'm not so sure how it works here I guess I should ask what my chances are of
getting into Deerfield,Andover,Exeter,The Lawrenceville School, Western Reserve Academy, Mercersburg, and the Hotchkiss School.

I'm in 7th grade I'm a guy I play
Basketball
Football
Maybe Lacrosse this year
and maybe Soccer

I play the Clarinet in my school band and I was the only 7th & 6th (last year) grade student invited to the Long Island Catholic School Wind Ensemble. I was selected for Div 3 NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) All-County the best ranking Concert Band in Nassau County.

As for my grades I'm going to take the SSAT this year to start my admission process for the boarding schools. I got a D in math last year on my report card. (Don't know why). This year's first trimester I got an A in math and I received only 1 C which was in Science (didn't do well on my hands on Final). I got all E's and A's and 1 B on the rest. (In my school E is the highest you can get).

I took the IOWA Test of Basic Skills and the Cognitive Abilities test and passed both tremendously with and incredibly 100% score on every english section on both tests.

I'm trying to do more sports and try to turn my C to an A and my B to an E and at one of the schools I'm planning on joning the Orchestra or Concert Band and playing Football, Basketball, Baseball, Lacrosse, and Running track.

So if you could tell me my chances on getting into those schools that will be great thanks.

your grades arent really the best, but if you tried harder, you might.

What do you mean you don’t know why you got a “D”? Most boarding schools want people with A and B average.
Sorry if I sound Harsh…

yeah you do

your grades arent the best, i agree. work harder at them. and btw, dont try to do MORE sports. try to get better at the ones you already do. schools dont want a guy who can do 6 different sports mediocre. they want core and strength in one, two, and if 3, you need to be STRONG at them ALL.
and ps: you’re in 7th grade, chill out with this prep school stuff! it’s good to dream and imagine ur future but to make ur id ivyleague897? maybe going a bit too far? i’m sorry if i sound harsh i just dont think you should stress about it now. this also means you have a lot of time too to start getting ur grades up and whatever you think will help you with admissions if you’re that committed but i want to stress how important the interview is. this little “resume” will only be part of your application.

Btw i got a b in science this trimester + honor roll!

congrats! Success IS the best revenge

i got into the summer session

Which summer school?

it doesn’t matter if you got into the summer session, summer sessions aren’t really formally a part of the school, they’re more of a business = $$$. you pay, you’re reasonably smart, you’re in.

get your grades up. a C is going to raise flags (and most definitely a D). it’s good that your grades are improving, keep at it.
it doesn’t matter if you play 4 sports at a mediocre level, if you play 1 and are really good at it, that counts for a LOT more. focus, maybe get recruited / send in tapes / get on a rep team.
schools don’t really care if you got 100% on the english section of some Iowa test, it’s rather irrelevant. what they’re looking at is your SSAT score, and until you get it, you can’t really judge where you stand academically.

good luck!

i think this kids got a chance man he gots alot of pep in him

im not mediocre in the sports i’ve won mvp in all of them AND i got a d in 6th friggin grade plus i got honor roll this year with no C’s so if you wanna keep on insulting me go to a different question because i will not stand for it and thank you lemings

They aren’t insulting you, they’re telling you that frankly getting into a top prep school with a C is hard unless you are a major recruit so don’t take it badly. Just get more A’s than B’s and you should be fine on the grades part of the app.

ivyleague897, you are good… i don’t like doooouuuuccchhhhheeeebbbaaaaagggggsssss. excessive pride will only count against you. I’m telling this to u now so that you won’t be stuck in disappointment and rejection in the years to come. Get down. You’re not the best. You have to keep working on yourself. Perfect academics is good but people actually prefer nice people to smart people.

wow ivyleague, people here are not insulting you AT ALL, they are trying to help you by giving you an objective evaluation of your chance base on your given stats.

if you don’t want people’s honest opinions but instead praises and accolades (OMGOMG, a C and a D is no problem! You are sooooo in!!!), I’m sorry to tell you: you posted it in the wrong place.
Good luck anyway

I had one C in 7th , it was a teacher mix up but it was there. Don’t say you can’t get in because of a C however on the whole you do need to clean you grades up.

exoveerotch just about summed it up

what im saying is that don’t leave negative comments and i also now have no C’s so stop trying to slam me with a d i got in 6th grade and by the way yes it is insulting so stop talking about 6th and try talking about 7th. thank you. I also didnt ask anybody whether the IOWA test was relevant and if the summer session matters.

also i never said i was the best and im not proud and i am nice i dont want people slamming me with stuff that happened over a year ago

Why are you so easily offended, can’t you be more humble? Trust me, it won’t kill you.
all right I’m done with this thread, so pointless…
