I was accepted to USC and was nominated for the Presidential scholarship. I understand that you need to attend the USC Explore event to even be considered for this scholarship. My questions is: how many nominees (who attend the Explore) receive the scholarship? Is there a possibility that someone who attends the event and goes through with the interview will not be offered the scholarship? Thanks.

In the past, a few students have reported on CC to have ended up with different scholarship offers than they interviewed for. Some got bumped up and some got bumped down. You can use the search tools on this forum to find these threads with the information from last years group.

Thank you, the post was very helpful!

My son attended one of the Pres interview weekends last year and yes, anything can happen. Most do get some sort of scholarship - I haven’t heard of anyone who didn’t get anything. Some are bumped up and others bumped down. Each school gets a number of awards to give and usually interviews more candidates than they have awards for. We have no idea what they are looking for if there is anything at all in particular and what Marshall is looking for can be completely different from what Roski is looking for. Just go in, be yourself and it will all work out no matter what. Good luck!
