:) so yeah opinions on if I will get into honors? I want to major in international studies and economics.

I heard the same thing about the CR+M 1400 SAT. The average CR+M SAT for this past year’s incoming freshmen was 1453. If you up that score, then you seem to have a good shot.

ok, so the 1400 thing is really true? Because I know people with 3.7s getting in from my school, and I have a much better GPA just slightly lower test scores… does this mean I really still won’t have a shot?

No you need a 1400. Even if you don’t get in it doesn’t really matter…the only upside is the honors housing. Anyone can take the honors classes. I know people that got into honors but didn’t want to do it so they didn’t do it.

Regarding UHC admissions - take the 1400 SAT with a grain of salt. D2 was admitted to the program with a sub-1400 SAT score. She had a 3.97 UWGPA/4.5 WGPA and was top 5% in her class. The fact that D1 was already in the program may have something to do with that admission, but…

According to UHC you have to have a 1400-SAT (CR+M) and top 5% of your class. I think SOMEtimes they’ll take the top 5% without the 1400-SAT but I think that’s a bit of a rarer case and could depend on various things.

Like people said, the only thing the UHC admission does is let you apply for Honors Housing as a freshman. Everything else is open to everyone. (And you can do upperclassmen Honors Housing if you maintain a 3.0 I believe, might be a 3.25)

I agree! I just got accepted to Pitt UHC with a 1370 (M + CR) SAT and a 3.91 UW GPA. Just goes to show you that SATs aren’t everything. I really believe that once you reach a certain threshold, then they take other things into consideration. Good luck to you!
