Not sure about merit, you may recieve some but because the OOS tuition is so low they are really stingy on OOS merit aid so I’d say not likely. As for a full ride, I’ve seen people with 33s not getting any merit aid so I’d say not to get your hopes up. If you are applying to Carlson Business or IT I’d say you are a match, but not a lock as I’ve seen a few kids with similar GPAs and 29/30 on the ACT get rejected last year.

Stats vary quite a bit between admissions to different schools, I’d look at this:
[Academic Profile](http://admissions.tc.umn.edu/academics/profile.html)

It is my understanding that most of the merit aid goes to the honors students and I don’t think your stats would get you into honors, at least from the perspective of last year’s applicants. It is interesting that the U has changed their admission notification cycle from the past. Like others have said, I can only guess that it is because the new tution structure and the economy have driven up admissions and that they want to wait until they know what the applicant pool looks like before they begin to admit them. If you read over last year’s posts on admissions you will see that some really good students did not get admitted because some of them had applied late and the class was full. I am thinking that the U is trying to avoid that scenario and ramp up its stats at the same time in its quest to become one of the top research institutions in the nation (as per prez).

Yea if you’re applying to IT i would be more concerned about getting in than merit for you.

or Carlson or CBS…
