I am an 8th grader. applying to Phillips Andover and Exeter academy. I have reasonably good stats. SSAT 98% and good grades. Andover interviewer told me he can imagine me being in campus. of course considering apps recommendation and ssat scores are good. I am wondering is it a generic comment or may have some weight in it ? Exeter interviewer did not say anything of that sort of statement. Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.
That is usually a generic statement meant to be kind and encourage kids in general or specifically encourage kids to apply. High application #'s make a school look good and are something schools chase.
That aside, if the rest of your application is good you have a decent shot. If you are full pay you have a more than decent shot.
It is very hard to tell just from SSAT % since all the “top” schools reject kids with 99% SSAT scores every single year.
thanks for the insight @one1ofeach . i thought so too. and I am applying for a Fin Aid. so I guess that would not make it any easier. There is no way to determine the chance. so got to be patient i guess
