Hi,
What would the chances be of me getting into colleges like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, and Columbia and other Ivy Leagues be if I was one of the top twenty Cross Country runners in the Country, and the number one Cross Country runner in the state, but my academics were something like a 3.75 GPA, decent extracurriculars, a 2300 on the SAT and my school ranking is not that great? Also I live in New Jersey, (so Princeton might appreciate that I am the number one runner in the state more than the others)

Sounds like a hook to me…

it sounds like your odds are great … what are your 800, 1600, and 3200 meter times? Given your short list of schools why don’t you contact the coaches and you’ll quickly know how interested they are. Schools do not have a lot of XC and T&F recruits so different schools will have differing needs for distance runners for your class … but given those cross country results the Ivies at least are likely to be interested.

(PS - Stanford is a whole different animal as their distance running is often top notch … a much higher bar to be recruited)
