I just finished up my freshman year of college with a 2.88 GPA. I was originally a Biology major but no matter how much I studied my grades would not show that on paper. Therefore, leading me to switch my major halfway through my second semester to Journalism. If I receive all A’s next semester, I will end up with a 3.3-3.4 GPA depending on whether or not I decide to add more classes. My question to you is, what are my honest chances of getting accepted into the Moody College of Communication at The University of Texas with a 3.3-3.4 GPA, an exceptional essay, and great volunteer work. (I volunteered at a hospital on the weekends during my first year at college, and am currently volunteering at a therapeutic riding center for disabled children and veterans.) I read that chances of getting into UT differ between the college you are applying to, so I am uncertain as to whether Moody is more competitive or not.
