In 2014, I was enrolled at Michigan State University. I did very poorly at this school. Was recessed in the summer along with gaining 70 pounds and then appealed and got back in. Then I got dismissed the first semester after my reinstatement. I essentially failed all my classes and a couple Ds and one A out of the whole bunch. I then go to a CC and I started off slow but got better as the semesters progressed I have a 3.45 currently. Looking to get straight As in the spring semester. Given that I have a relatively solid GPA, a letter of recommendation from a former alumna and have improved every semester do I have a chance of transferring to USC?
i was born and raised in Los Angeles, going to MSU was a complete cultural change for me and being as young as was i wasn’t ready for it. I got stopped by the police twice for racial profiling while being at MSU. Once i came home permanently things started to change for me. I learned more about myself and what I like and what i don’t like. I became a more independent person and became a more responsible human being. I lost all the weight I gained while being there. I have done alot of volunteer work for a PR company. I work over 25 hours a week at a Coworking space. The past two semesters I have gotten a 3.67 on my report card.
anyone?
Everything depends on you fulfilling the USC GE requirements, transferable classes, your essays, the major you are applying to and your GPA. For Fall 2018, the average transfer GPA is a little over 3.7. Getting admitted as a transfer is still difficult. You should have a backup plan. Maybe consider a UC outside of UC Berkeley or UCLA. Both UCB or UCLA are just as difficult (at least around a 3.7+ GPA) to transfer as USC. Also consider CSU’s if UC’s are not to your liking.
