Chances on transferring from IUPUI to Purdue West Lafayette

Hello everyone,

I graduated in 2010 and have been going to Ivy Tech community college for 2 years, then just this sememster transferred to IUPUI's Computer IT department with a 2.4 GPA. I heard Purdue has a better program for this and I visited their campus and loved it there. My GPA is still around a 2.5 but i'm wanting to know how the transfer would be, if I had a good chance. I'm thinking at the end of this semester my gpa will go up but i'm really not sure how much, my grades are pretty good so far. It was a quick response from IUPUI and was directly put into my school and major of choice. So i'm wondering if i'd be the same chance as Purdue. I'm in good standing and have been every year, and have about 40 credit hours, all of them going towards my degree but still have about 3 years because they are mostly general courses but about 4 classes are computer classes. I'm gonna be applying to Purdue in the next couple days for the spring semester. If anyone has any info or experience in transferring between these schools it would be great to hear about it.

Thank you everyone!!

You might be able to, it really depends on the strength of this incoming class for computer science,

Purdue’s program is ranked among the top in the nation, so you might have trouble, but if you can write a good essay and explain your passion in a personal statement, I bet your chances will be good.

I’ll be going there next year for Microbiology, I hope to see you there!

I really hope so, I just went there today and loved the campus. Thats very true, I heard they have a great program and another reason why I want to go. Definitely, I was writing one for an hour and hopefully I got a good one down. Put plenty of reason and why I really wanna go there. I hope to see you too! And thanks for the response and support really means a lot!
