i go to a small private high school in michigan. i take classes that are meant to be college level, so they are ap/honors level or difficulty at least. there are no honors or ap classes, but i took a college class last year. my school has very few extracurricular options, but i keep busy with what i do.

SAT: CR-660, Math-660, W-580 (writing is my weakness)
ACT: Math-28, English-28, Science-30, Reading-32
GPA: UW: 3.0 W: school doesn't weight, but would be about a 3.6
ECs:
-4 years of varsity sports all year, lettered in three, i did/will have leadership positions in 2
-competitive water skiing, although not as much in high school i did win a state championship 1 year and placed.
-4 years of drama (which goes from sept-may)
-1 year of student gov't
-1 year of NJHS
-i did an alumni interview which went very well it seemed like
-my essay was good. my teacher recs were from teachers that liked me a lot and that i know pretty well. my counsler rec might not be great, i dont think she is a big fan of me (although i dont think i deserve as much dislike as she probably has for me)
- this has all kept me very busy. in the summer i have gotten a bit lazy, although i simply couldnt find a job. (i live in a rural area outside a city ranked in forbes as one of the worst places to get a job)
-i was acceptted to Loyola University Chicago if that gives something to compare to
will chance back, thanks!

You’re not going to like my answer, but I think it could go either way. I wouldn’t be surprised if you got in, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t.

Your biggest enemy is your unweighted gpa, and the fact that your high school doesn’t fully recognize honors/AP classes.

^yeah, that is what i was thinking. my gpa has really worried me and i think it ruined my chances at fordham :(>

Aww that sucks about your GPA. I was on the online chat the other night and they said the adcoms don’t recalculate your grades either. But I’m sure if you tell them your school doesn’t weight they’ll take that into consideration.

Other than that your sats/act are around the average. I think you have good ECs too. Varsity sports are always awesome! And also I here having an interview helps A LOT. Good luck I hope you get in. :)

Btw is holy cross your first choice?

thanks me too, after my interview has definitely become my top choice. it sucks i wont know for a while since i just did my interview sunday

If you didnt get into Fodham (?) I dont think HC is realistic as It is harder to gain admission to then Fordham. Good Luck anyway!

I say, you never know, are you going to want to play sports there?
They said they go on what is offered at your school, not what others have taken, so I wouldn’t worry about that. I think 50-50 too…you never know what they are looking for. If you could write them or your interviewer, express your interest again, it couldn’t hurt.

Dude don’t worry about GPA I guess I got in with a 3.3 UW
I think you must have an upward trend, tell them that you are improving!
