I recently applied to all the Ivy Leagues. I have great recommendations, I have been involved in a huge amount of extracurriculars - all varied, I have won painting prizes, can speak three languages and have been involved in a lot of sports.

Writing is definitely my strong point - I wrote great essays, I think. But I am very worried about my SAT. I am half middle eastern and half kiwi, so my background is ideal for those schools. My father is a political film maker and I indicated on my application that I would like to study political science and philosophy.

I took the SAT for the first time, and haven't found out my results yet but I think I would have got about 700 for reading and writing each, but I feel like I may only have gotten about a 580 for maths. Is there any chance of me getting accepted at all?

Since you’re an aspirant to eight of the most selective schools extant, why don’t you go to their individual fora and check out threads of prior results.

Barring that epic journey, google each schools’ Common Data Set and see what a 1980 SAT lands you.

Are you a US citizen or Permanent Resident? That’s probably one of the single most important factors in your case.

Also: why did you apply to that set of schools? Some are so desperately different than some others that it’s unfathomable for one to love each or fit into each equally. Surely you’re not just one of these forgettable people fixated on the Ivy brand, right?
